Agar-agar is an extract of certain red algae (Rhodophyceae family). It is contained in the cell wall of these aquatic plants. To extract it, the algae is washed, dried, and then boiled. They release a mucilage which, once purified and dehydrated, is cut into strips or ground into powder.

Directions for use
For one liter of preparation, you need 4 g (2 level teaspoons). Dissolve the cold agar-agar and bring to a boil for a few minutes. The agar-agar will cool to around 40 C. Then place the preparation in the refrigerator.
You can use it to thicken your sauces, make your favorite desserts like panna cotta. Perfect for those on slimming or vegetarian diets.
